Adding to the list of films being affected by the ongoing cash crunch is the Marathi venture 'Fugay'. The film, featuring Swwapnil Joshi and Subodh Bhave, was slated to release on the first Friday of December but the makers have delayed the release now.
'The demonetisation has certainly affected a lot of fields, including entertainment. But since it's a decision for the development of the country, we welcome it.
And we don't want the viewers to miss the film too. So, we've decided to delay the release for a while,' informed producers Kartik Nishandar and Arjun Singgh Baran. Though a new release date hasn't been announced yet, sources suggest that Fugay will release in the third week of December.

Post the decision of declaring Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes void, the entertainment sector has suffered quite a lot in terms of revenue. With people being busy exchanging notes or withdrawing money, there's hardly anyone queuing up at ticket windows. Not just Marathi but Hindi films are also bearing the brunt. Two Hindi films, 'Saansein' and '30 Minutes', which were scheduled to release in the first week of November, were delayed.
Closer home, Marathi play producers have also suffered losses, prompting them to either cancel shows or come up with novel ways of tackling the cash crunch. Seems like there are no 'achhe din' for showbiz as of now.
