Class XI student hangs self in Vadaj

AHMEDABAD: A 17-year-old girl was found dead by her family members in Vyaswadi area of Nava Vadaj on Monday . Vadaj police said they are yet to ascertain why she took the extreme step.
Vadaj police said Brijkishor Nayee, a resident of Shreenath Apartment near Vyaswadi, informed city police control room at 12.45 pm on Monday about the death of his daughter Rani, 17. She had hanged herself from an iron bracket used to support a shelf, with a dupatta.“She was a student of class XI science in Ganesh School in Nava Vadaj. When her younger sister came back from school at 12.30 pm, she found her hanging, after which she informed her father,“ said a Vadaj police official.
“ According to the complaint, the incident took place between 12 noon and 12.30 pm when Rani was alone in the apartment,“ he added.
They added that Brijkishor takes house paint contracts. “We have not found any suicide note from the spot. Her classmates and friends are being questioned about the last conversations to ascertain the reason for suicide,“ said the official.
