KOZHIKODE: Both the BJP-RSS and Popular Front of India (PFI) have dismissed the 'revelation' of an RSS worker that it was Sangh Parivar activists who had killed PFI worker Mohammad Fazal in 2006.
RSS worker Subeesh who was arrested in the murder of CPM activist Mohanan last month had reportedly confessed to the police that he, along with other RSS-BJP workers, killed Fazal.
BJP district president A Sathyaprakash told a news conference in Kannur on Tuesday that certain police officers loyal to CPM are trying to subvert the probe into the case.

He said that the alleged confession of Subeesh, arrested in connection with the murder of CPM worker K Mohanan at Valankichal here on October 10, was the latest attempt to blame the murder on the Sangh Parivar. The BJP leader alleged that the police officers have forced the confession from Subeesh through third degree torture.
Sathyaprakash said that the party would go to any extent to ensure the suspension of the two police officers involved in the alleged forced confession. The two officers had scripted the probe to help the CPM bid to save Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrashekharan.
Meanwhile, PFI Kannur district president V Basheer said in a press release that the alleged disclosure at this juncture is mysterious. The accused Kodi Suni and others were arrested when CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was the home minister, he said.

Local police and crime branch had investigated the case. Investigating officers were frequently shifted allegedly to sabotage the case. CBI took over the case after the high court's direction on a petition filed by Fazal's wife. The CPM opposed the probe and had even approached the Supreme Court, PFI said. The CBI charge sheeted the accused and later included Karayi Rajan and Chandrasekharan, PFI said.
