Woman stabbed to death by lover

RAJKOT: A 22-year-old woman was brutally stabbed to death by her lover near Sheth High School on 80-foot Road in the city on Tuesday evening.
The victim, Bhavika Dafda, was stabbed 18 times by her lover Bhavesh Vegad, who studies at a polytechnic college in the city. Dafda, a native of Samadhiyala village in Amreli district, was working as a nurse in the city. She lived in Vaniyavadi locality near the school.
“Vegad, a native of Savarkundla and Dafda were in a relationship for since two-and-a-half years. When they met at a garden on 80-foot Road in the evening, there was a quarrel between them. Vegad stabbed her 18 times. She died on the spot,” said Mulubhai Dhandhal, PSI, D-staff. Vegad fled after killing her. Police rushed to the spot and started a probe.
