Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam head girl, Salaseini Delana, was beaming with joy when she was named Dux yesterday.

She described her achievement as one of her proudest moments so far, but attributed her success to her parents.

The Beqa lass, who daily commutes from Sawani, is the fourth youngest of eight children.

Her father, Ilaitia Delana, said: “I’m very happy with her achievement and she has surpassed all the challenges especially travelling daily from Sawani to Koronivia.”

Salaseini will be heading to Adi Cakobau School next year and aspires to become a nurse.

Chief guest at the prizegiving ceremony, Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Mahendra Reddy, reminded the students and parents on the importance of Education in life.

“We want you to succeed in life and this Government has made education free,” Mr Reddy said.

Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School has 474 students from Year 1 to Year 8. The school is located in Toga, along the Koronivia/Lokia Road, Rewa.
