After Rs 2000 notes were recovered from terrorists, former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that ‘excuse’ given for implementation of demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes have been proved wrong. “The excuse given for demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes are proving out to be false today. The poor doesn’t have money, while new Rs 2,000 notes were recovered from the terrorists killed in Bandipora today,” Abdullah said.
I haven’t gotten my hands on a new ₹2000 note but these guys didn’t take long to get theirs. https://t.co/vYwOViSpfq

“Gareeb ke pas paise nhi; aaj 2 terrorists Bandipora mein maare gaye, unke jeb se naye Rs 2000 ke note nikle. Gareeb ke pas notes nhi hai lekin jisse notes cheenne ka bahana is hukumat ne diya unke pass naye notes aa gaye,” he added.
Shockingly, new currency notes of Rs 2,000 notes were recovered from terrorists, which have been in circulation for less than a fortnight, from two terrorists killed in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, three soldiers have been reported martyred in a Pakistani attack, believed to be carried out by its Border Action Force in combination of some terrorists.
Bharatiya Janata Party lawmakers have repeatedly said that the demonetisation move will scrap the cash available to anti-social elements like terrorists, naxals, and drug mafias. The argument has been strongly presented in praise of the move by various leaders of BJP, which includes Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP President Amit Shah as well.
