Seetha Devi stamp their class in hockey

Seethadevi Girls’ College Kandy walked away as champions at the Blue and Gold All Island 7-a-side Girls’ Hockey Championship organised by Royal College in Colombo recently.

The Kandy school beat Janadapathi Vidyalaya 1-0 in the pre quarterfinals and Musaeus College 1-0 in the quarters. In the semi-final encounter they beat Yasodara Balika 3-0. In the finals they encountered a much tougher Sangamitha Girls’ College and beat them 1-0 in a tense battle.

The champion hockey team of Seethadevi Girls’ College Kandy comprised H.A.N.A. Ettipola, H.M.S.T. Paranagama, W.S.M.F Fernando, H.M.C. Abeyarathne, M.D.K. Karunatilake, S.R.K. Kotadeniya, G.T. Jayarathna, I.W.N. Jayasingha and D.R. Rajapakse, Pushpa Rajakaruna (Teacher in charge) and M. Ashraf (Head Coach).
