Angela Bassett cast in key role in Marvel's 'Black Panther'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- American Horror Story co-star Angela Bassett has signed on to play Ramonda, mother of T'Challa, in the upcoming Marvel movie Black Panther.

Ryan Coogler is directing the comic-book adaptation for a Feb. 16, 2018 release.

Chadwick Boseman will play the title role. The ensemble will also include Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba.
