Retired ITBP DIG takes over as new president of Winter Games Association of Uttarakhand

Retired deputy inspector general (DIG) of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Shiv Prasad Chamoli, has been elected as the new president of Winter Games Association of Uttarakhand.

DEHRADUN: Retired deputy inspector general (DIG) of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Shiv Prasad Chamoli, has been elected as the new president of Winter Games Association of Uttarakhand. He has taken over from S S Pangti who was a retired IAS officer.
A new nine-member executive committee of the association has also been formed which includes two vice-presidents, secretary, treasurer and five executive members.
While talking to TOI, the new president of the association said, “I am honoured to be handed this responsibility.
There are immense opportunities for winter games in Uttarakhand and we will strive hard to make it a more popular destination. Auli is already famous among the skiing enthusiasts from across the world.”
Chamoli also said that Junior Skiing National Championship will be organized at Auli in the first week of February next year and World Snow Day would also be celebrated with fervour on January 15.
Chamoli is also director of Himalayan Adventure Institute located at Kempty Fall in Mussoorie.
