The Indore-Patna express tragedy is only the latest addition to the list of horrific train accidents the country has seen. Here is a round up of the most recent railway tragedies.

Bhubaneswar rail mishap, September 30,2016: 2 people lost their lives when Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak passenger train collided with a goods train near Cuttack. The accident left over 28 people injured.

Secundrabad-Mumbai Doronto, September 12, 2015 - 9 coaches of 12220 Secunderabad Junction-Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Duronto Express derailed at Martur railway station, around 20 km from Kalaburagi town in Karnataka killing at least 2 women and injuring 7 others.

Dehradun-Varanasi Janata Express, March 20, 2015- 39 people lost their lives and over 150 were injured as the Dehradun-Varanasi express derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli.

Bangalore-Ernakulam intercity express, February 13, 2015- 12 people died as the train derailed near Anekal of Bengaluru. Initial reports from the railways department indicated the possibility of a bounder falling on the tracks, causing the accident. The incident left as many as 100 people injured.

Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, June 25, 2014: 4 persons were killed and 8 injured as Rajdhani express derailed near Bihar's Chapra town.

Gorakhdham Express, May 26, 2014: Gorakhpur bound train rammed into a stationary goods train near Khalilabad station in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh killing at least 25 and injuring over 50

Diva-Sawantvadi Passenger train, May 4, 2014: Derailed between Nagothane and Roha stations. About 20 were killed and over 100 were injured.
