The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual fall in minimum temperature by about 2°C to 4°C over most parts of the country after November 17.
A few days ago on November 12, Pune's minimum temperature had dipped to 9.4°C, which was not only the season's lowest minimum temperature but was also the lowest November minimum temperature recorded in the city over the last four years.Consequently , minimum temperature rose in the city due to an easterly wave affecting the south peninsula.
IMD officials on Saturday said that minimum temperature was below normal by 1.6°C to 3°C at many places over central Maharashtra and a few parts of Marathawada.

An IMD official told TOI on Saturday that the cold, dry northerly winds coming into the state, less moisture incursion as well as clear skies in Pune have led to the dip in temperature.
The city's minimum temperature may fall further to 10 °C on Sunday , as per an IMD forecast.
Meanwhile, the city's maximum temperature touched 28.4°C on Saturday , around 1.4°C below normal. An IMD forecast said that the maximum may cross the 30°C mark in the coming days.
