Teen goes missing from college

PUNE: A 17-year-old girl studying at a women's college on Karve Road went missing from the hostel on Thursday.
After failing to locate the girl, the college administration lodged a complaint with the Deccan Gymkhana police station late on Thursday night, saying she had disappeared from her hostel room. As the girl is a minor, police have registered a case of kidnapping.
A day-long investigation in the case revealed the girl has fled with a youth from Mumbai.
Sub-inspector Shilpa Lambe said, "We suspect the duo made an elaborate plan to run away to their native village in Latur. We are tracing them."
Police said the girl stays with her family in Mumbai. She had met the youth in Mumbai, and it is suspected they fell in love.
The girl shifted to Pune this year to pursue higher studies and maintained contact with the youth.
