Faction of AAP workers want John Fernandes at Quepem constituency

QUEPEM: “Advocate John Fernandes is the best and only candidate who can give a brave fight to the sitting MLA of Quepem constituency Chandrakant Kavlekar alias Babu and can probably win if he is given the Aam Admi Party (AAP) ticket to fight the coming assembly elections, states a press release issued by a faction of AAP workers, including Chandrakant Katekar, Dilip Hegde, Caetano Carvalho and Domnic Fernandes.Carvalho is the president of the Adivasi Sanghattna, Quepem, Hegde is a social activist and Katekar is a retired land surveyor.
Being young, highly qualified, active in social and cultural field for many decades and having a clear image in the society, advocate John Fernandes is the best bet who can turn the tables in defeating the sitting MLA, states the press release.
A candidate who thinks that he can win in Quepem constituency should be in a position to pull sizable votes from the villages of Balli, Barcem, Morpirla, Khola, Fatorpa and Betul, and only advocate Fernandes has the capacity to pull sizable votes from these panchayats, added the press release.
While pointing out that John Fernandes being from the tribal community, the press note states that he will have an advantage as majority of the voters from Quepem constituency are tribals and he is a know figure among his community.
