Mackenzie Hughes posted a 5-under 67 on Friday at the RSM Classic, playing the par-72 Plantation Course at Sea Island. The Canadian posted a 61 on Thursday on the par-70 Seaside Course, moving to 14 under for the week -- two shots clear of Cheng Tsung Pan going into the weekend.

Hughes has yet to make a bogey through two rounds and leads the field in strokes gained off the tee and around the green, which is a good combination -- he's also 12th in strokes-gained putting.

Trailing Hughes in second place is Cheng Tsung Pan at 12 under after a Friday 64 on Seaside. Other notables in the hunt are Hudson Swafford (-11), Billy Horschel (-10), Charles Howell III (-10), Jim Furyk (-9) and Thursday's biggest storyline Stewart Cink (-9).

The scoring at Sea Island through two rounds has been spectacular as players are taking advantage of calm wind conditions to post low scores. The cut line on Friday was at 5 under, one stroke away from tying for the lowest cut number since 1970.

The shot of the day on Friday came from Josh Teater on No. 8 at the Seaside Course as he holed out for eagle from the fairway to move to 10 under for the tournament in T7.
