Honey Baisoya registered his second consecutive victory on the PGTI as he cruised to a nine-shot win at the IndianOil Servo Masters Golf meet at the Digboi Golf Links on Saturday.

KOLKATA: Honey Baisoya registered his second consecutive victory on the PGTI as he cruised to a nine-shot win at the IndianOil Servo Masters Golf meet at the Digboi Golf Links on Saturday. Honey Baisoya carded two-under-70 in the fourth and final round to have a tournament total of 20-under-268. He had won the Chief Ministers Meghalaya Open Golf 2016 at the Shillong Golf Club last week.
Kapil Kumar came second with a four-round total of 11-under 277.
He hit one-over-73 on Saturday. Bengaluru's Udayan Mane shot 69 in the final round to be third at seven-under-281 while Mukesh Kumar of Mhow was a further stroke back in fourth place. Last year's champion - Shankar Das of Kolkata - took a share of the fifth place along with Gurgaon's Manu Gandas and Jamshedpur's Karan Taunk at four-under-284.
Honey Baisoya, who carded 67, 67, 64 and 70 over the four days, had a controlled fourth round. He received the winner's cheque of Rs 5,25,000. That helped him move up from fifth to second place in the Order Of Merit list. His earnings for the season now stand at Rs. 23,90,145. Bengaluru's Chikkarangappa S is the leader with season earnings of Rs. 24,06,640.
"It's terrific to win two events in two weeks. This phase is all the more special because I've finally achieved success after struggling for the first three years after turning professional. It's not only the wins but also the good scores that I've been shooting for the past few weeks that have boosted my confidence," said Honey Baisoya.
