No Rs100 notes in Bhamragarh
Nagpur: The Bhamragarh branch of Bank of Maharashtra, which is the only nationalized bank after Perimili around 40km away, was devoid of Rs100 currency notes so far until some amount of the same denomination arrived from their Chandrapur branch late in the afternoon on Friday.
Branch deputy branch manager Ashish Nagdive said that earlier only once did currencies of denomination of Rs100 had come which were used to revive the ATM but was exhausted within two hours.
“We are only giving away Rs2,000 currencies in exchanges but now set to revive the ATM as some Rs100 notes has arrived,’ he said.
Local traders like Lakma Jhode, Mritunjay Sarkar and Arun Bose claimed their business is in limbo due to want of Rs100 changes. “Our businesses have got affected due to shortage of changes. Even we are forced to purchase materials of daily use on credits,” said Sarkar.
