IMA-Rajasthan president Mahesh Sharma visits Mt Abu to attend meet on pediatrics

JAIPUR: Dr Mahesh Sharma, president of the Rajasthan chapter of the Indian Medical Association, was in Mt Abu on Friday to attend a conference of the pediatrics.
Nikhil Patel, secretary of IMA, Mt Abu and other doctors Somendra Sharma and Gopalkrishnan were among those who gathered to welcome the state president of what is regarded as the largest professional association in the world.
There are 2.7 lakh members in the IMA.In recent days, the doctors have been getting together to protest the move by the Centre to dissolve the IMA and create a new National Medical Commission, which will have non-elected members nominated by the government. This would hurt the autonomy of IMA, members say.
