SILCHAR: An indefinite rail blockade called by North Cachar Hills Indigenous Student's Forum (NCHISF) at Harangajao in Dima Hasao district came to an at 2.30 pm on Thursday.
The blockade was withdrawn following an invitation to agitators by divisional railway manager (DRM), Lumding, for discussing their demand for immediate release of compensation to the families affected by the construction of Lumding-Silchar broad gauge line.

DRM AK Jain, in a letter sent to NCHISF leaders on Thursday, has requested them to attend a meeting at Maligaon on November 24 to have a discussion on their demands. On the basis of this, NCHISF announced withdrawal of its agitation. As the blockade was withdrawn, train services on the Lumding-Silchar and Lumding-Agartala route resumed from 3 pm, an official said. tnn
