Bharmour Vikas Manch, a local organization, has urged the state government to undertake construction of Bharmour-Gaurikund road for making the famous Manimahesh pilgrimage easy.

A spokesperson of the manch said here the survey of the Bharmour-Gaurikund road had already been conducted by the government.

He said the Bharmour-Gaurikund road, if constructed, would be the easiest route providing comfortable access to the pilgrims of all age groups to the Manimahesh Lake as the Gaurikund is hardly two-three km below the Manimahesh shrine.

The spokesperson demanded that the crash barriers should be raised alongside the Bharmour-Hadsar, a perilous portion of the highway.

He suggested the development of a parking slot by widening the road from Dadma to Patti. This would accommodate a number of vehicles, thereby solving the problem of congestion to a great extent.

He asked for more toilets in and around the Bharmour Chourasi temple complex for the benefit of pilgrims, tourists and others visiting the ancient tribal town of Bharmour dating back to the 5th century.
