Jaipur and Bundi on new TV show set in Rajasthan

The team of the upcoming TV show Ek Shringaar… Swaabhimaan, which revolves around a Marwari family, shot in several locations in Jaipur and Bundi, including Panna Meena Kund, Taragarh Fort and Raniji Ki Baori.
Rajasthan has been the backdrop of many TV shows and films, and the newest one to showcase the state is the upcoming TV show Ek Shringaar… Swaabhimaan.The story revolves around a Marwari family. Vikram Ghai, the director of the show, told us, “It’s about a Marwari family with two daughters who are extremely intelligent and successful professionally. It’s a progressive show about how it’s important for girls to be financially independent and have a balance between their professional and personal life.”
Prachee Shah Paandya, who plays the matriarch in the show, was busy shooting in Jaipur and Bundi, along with newcomers Sangeita Chauhan and Ankita Sharma. The cast also shot in Panna Meena Kund, the roads near Amer Fort and Bundi for around three weeks before returning to Mumbai on Monday.

Prachee, who is also a kathak dancer, said, “I have been to Jaipur many times for my kathak performances and the city’s rich culture and heritage always mesmerise me. But this was the first time I was shooting in the Pink City. I feel, Jaipur takes you back to ancient times. It is a perfect amalgamation of traditional and modern India and the people here are very warm. The scenic landscapes and picturesque locations are a treat to the eye.”
She added, “Bundi was equally beautiful. I still can’t get over the pyaaz ki kachori that I had in Bundi. I got some time off from the shooting and explored the local market there and gorged on pyaaz ki kachori.”
Ankita, who plays the character of Naina – one of daughters – too enjoyed the lip-smacking delicacies of Rajasthan. She said, “The experience of shooting around exotic havelis and scenic locales of the pink-washed Jaipur was surreal. Whenever I would get some time, I would go for shopping and sightseeing. I ate dal-baati churma and kachori. I can’t wait to come back to the city and explore it further.”

While Ankita managed to take time out to pamper herself with some retail therapy in the local markets of Jaipur, Prachee missed out on the same. She said, “We used to shoot back-to-back. I didn’t really get the time to explore the city. And the day I got free, it was Sunday. All the markets in the old Jaipur were shut. I wanted to buy lac bangles for myself, but I couldn’t. I will definitely be coming to Jaipur again, especially to shop.”
