demmel product’s best-selling 5.7 Next Generation Intelligent LCD is now available with full VGA resolution and, even better, at the same price as the QVGA model. The new model will be presented along with the entire range of iLCDs at the upcoming electronica 2010 at Booth 434 in Hall A3.

The new DPP-CT6448 is compatible with the QVGA model and can be easily implemented into existing designs without any modifications to the hardware. An incremental compatibility-mode makes it possible to port applications for double resolution within a few minutes and the upward compatible instruction set includes nearly 200 commands.

The innovative iLCD design enables users to store any Windows font, static and animated graphics, text templates and macros on the iLCD controller’s 32 MB flash memory. Graphics or user-data can also be saved to a MicroSD card. iLCDs require none of the extensive hard and software development and pixel-based programming that conventional “dumb” LCDs do, making it extremely simple to design an attractive screen layout. By using iLCD technology, electronic developers can develop appliances with a touch panel display within a few days even if the application is run on a 50 cent processor.

Color iLCD panels are available from 2.8 (240 x 320 pixel) to 10.2 (1024 x 600 pixel) and every model comes with the same set of commands and electrical connections. If necessary, iLCDs of different sizes can easily be swapped without having to modify either the hardware or software of the controlling application.

The integrated iLCD controller offers powerful, intuitive high-level commands and Windows fonts. Creating formatted texts, displaying static and animated graphics or drawing frames and lines for an attractive touch screen can be realized quickly and easily. All demmel product’s iLCD panels offer USB, RS232, I2C and SPI interfaces.

iLCD panels include a battery-buffered real-time clock, interface options for a keyboard matrix, relays and signal transmitters as well as additional digital and analog inputs and outputs which further reduces hardware complexity.
