Yogendra Yadav writes letter to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, urges to meet auto drivers demand by November 26
Taking up the cause of auto-rickshaw drivers, Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav has written a letter to Arvind Kejriwal asking him to meet their “genuine demands” by November 26.
He also said 7,326 candidates whose names were uploaded and displayed on the site of the Transport Department should be issued letters of intent.
Taking up the cause of auto-rickshaw drivers in the national capital, Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav has written a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asking him to meet their “genuine demands” by November 26. Yadav appealed to Kejriwal to register the 324 two-seater rickshaw (TSR) autos purchased after obtaining letters of intent from the Transport Department and to allow 608 TSR drivers to purchase TSR autos against the issued letters of intent. He also said 7,326 candidates whose names were uploaded and displayed on the site of the Transport Department should be issued letters of intent.
“I was shocked to find that the party which rode to power in an auto rickshaw has let them down. Arvindji, I hope you would address this grave injustice before November 26,” he wrote. In the wake of complaints received about problems in the process, the government had decided to stop the registration of purchased TSR autos, further issuance of LOIs and further execution of issued LOIs on December 26.

Pointing out that the government was relying on a flimsy ‘preliminary enquiry’ as the basis of its decision, Yadav asked Kejriwal why his government had failed to act against both the authorised dealers of Bajaj Auto Ltd who sold and delivered unregistered TSR auto to poor drivers in violation of trade certificate issued by the Transport Department and in violation of rule 42 of the Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.
“We have been approached by various trade unions and TSR (Two Seater Rickshaw) auto drivers with their grievances. I was shocked to find that the party which literally rode to power in auto rickshaw has let them down after coming to power,” said Yadav.
