HYDERABAD: Child rights activists on Wednesday demanded that along with advocate Sudhakar Reddy and his son Bharat Kumar Reddy, who were booked for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl, the lawyer's elder son Tarak Ram Reddy should also be booked for assaulting the victim in the past.
When the victim approached Tarak Ram Reddy to rescue her from his brother Bharat Kumar Reddy's sexual assault, the former did not believe her.
Instead, he manhandled her and accused her of lying, they claimed.
Sudhakar Reddy and Bharat Kumar Reddy were taken into custody by police and they were formally arrested on Wednesday.
According to the first information report (FIR) registered in the case, Bharat had sexually assaulted the victim for two months, while his father misbehaved with her on several occasions. On Wednesday, child rights NGO Balala Hakula Sangam sent a letter to the Rachakonda police commissioner to take steps for medical termination of her pregnancy. The culprits employed the victim as a domestic help by paying Rs 10,000, it added.
