Jaipur actor Darshan Dave turns singer, shoots single with Shilpa Shinde

Jaipur actor Darshan Dave, last seen in TV show Begusarai, has now turned singer with his single Dil Tu Hai Deewana. Not just that, he has also roped in another popular face on small screen, Shilpa Shinde, who had a dramatic exit from the show Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hai.
Have always been musically inclined
Dave says that he has been singing, writing and composing songs since his school days, but only took a plunge in singing after learning all aspects of music.He tells us, “After finishing my filmmaking course in Mumbai, I got a chance to work as an assistant director with various directors like Siddharth Kak (best known as producer and presenter of TV show Surabhi) and Mansoor Khan of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar fame. Then, I got an opportunity to work as a lyricist and music composer for various TV shows and also for the Dev Anand-starrer 2005 film Mr Prime Minister, for which I wrote and composed the song Chuimui Si Zindagi sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.”

Talking about his musical inclination, he says, “My mother, Prem Dave, is a retired music professor from University of Rajasthan and she has been training me since childhood. Now that Begusarai is off-air, I thought of releasing my single. I have not just sung the song, but have also acted in it and choreographed the video.”
Shilpa and I became friends while shooting in the same studio
On featuring Shilpa in the song, Darshan says, “We both became friends when I was shooting for Begusarai and Shilpa for Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hai! in the same studio. So one day, I casually shared this idea of releasing a single with her. After some time, Shilpa came to Jaipur for an event and I was here too. So we met and she saw the rushes. She liked it and that’s how she got on board. Shilpa looks completely different from her Bhabhi Ji avatar in the video.”
The video has been shot in Jaipur, Pushkar, Jaisalmer and also in parts of Maharashtra. “It took me more than two months to shoot this video as there are more than 20 locations in one video in different cities. The video captures the story of a traveler,” he says.
I miss Jaipur so much that I set up a mini studio here only
Darshan, who was recently in Jaipur, says, “I came here for Diwali, but then thought of releasing my single from my city itself. I miss Jaipur so much that I have set up a mini studio at my home. I often come to Jaipur for writing songs; this city gives me peace of mind and helps me focus. Everything is so calm here, unlike Mumbai.”
