Chhattisgarh police sources said that they had received intelligence inputs about the movement of 50 to 60 Naxals holding a meeting on the Dantewada-Sukma border four to five days ago.
Wednesday’s gunfight was the second biggest in Dantewada since four Naxals were killed in Dabba Kunna in August. Four months earlier, Maoists had attacked a truck carrying CRPF personnel in Malewada and killed 7 personnel.
