LUDHIANA: Scrapping of the Rs500 and Rs1,000 notes have now found a place in Hindi, Rajasthani, and Punjabi songs, like 'Modi game la gaya', and 'Modi jee, main to barbaad ho gayi', and many others going viral on social networking sites. One such Punjabi song of singer Nishawn Bhullar goes like this: 'Kar kar thaggiya jinna ne jode si, Jihna piche kaiya de vi dil tode si, Ohi paise ajj daur jehe puya gaya, Ni jama thalle la gaya, Ni Modi game la gaya' ('People who had accumulated black money by indulging in frauds and even breaking hearts of many people have been left running from pillar to post for the same money, and have been nailed to the ground.
Modi has outsmarted them all').

This song has got over 6.32 lakh views on YouTube, over 11,000 likes, and 292 dislikes. It is being shared on Whatsapp and Facebook. There are many more such songs like this. One rap song goes thus: 'Mitro, maine black money le li' ('Friends, I have taken black money'), which has over 2.27 lakh views.
Then, there is the Rajasthani song 'Modi ji mharo man mein baat khatke, nahiyi re notan pe mharo hiyo ghatke', a Bhojpuri number in the voice of Talking Tom 'Ratiya mein band kariya panch sau hajariya', a Haryanvi song 'Hajar panch sau notan tayi neend udadi re', and many such others. The videos of these songs are equally interesting, as some of these songs show caricatures of LK Advani, Narendra Modi, and Amit Shah dancing with Arun Jaitley beating the drums, displaying banned notes, and the new notes being held by people dressed in their regional attires.
Harleen Sona, a young writer and poetess, said: "This is one such happening that affects everyone's life. The sensitivity of a poet is affected by the good or bad that's happening around. There might be people who find certain flaws in what is happening, or how it is happening, and on the other hand, there would also be people who are happy. From the pen of a poet, you will see all these emotions covered in their entirety, as I feel there is still much more to come in different forms and expressions of creativity."
