JAIPUR: Chairpersons and officials of
State Finance Commission (SFC) from Rajasthan and
Madhya Pradesh held a
joint meeting on Tuesday to exchange their ideas and
deliberate on challenges.
Officials from both the state share the practices and experiences of their
finance commission in dealing with ground realities.
From Rajasthan chairperson, Jyoti Kiran highlighted how SFC in Rajasthan has been using social media to reach out to its constituents and adopting innovative ways to dig out more data.
"Rajasthan SFC is trying its best to be innovative in terms of its approach to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions and urban local bodies . We are working on to develop model so that these bodies can become self sufficient," said Kiran.
MP SFC chairperson Himat Kothari applauded the efforts of Rajasthan and announced that their state will study the practices of Rajasthan more and will implement it too.
"Lot of work has been done in Raja than. Since geographic and demographic situations are same in both the state, we will review the polices adopted here and see if they can be implemented in MP," said Himat Kothari.
