Stop politics over demonitisation: Naik
Times News Network
Allahabad: Governor Ram Naik on Tuesday said that politics on demonitisation is not good for a democracy. He said it is true that people are suffering after the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency but the Central government is addressing the problems on daily basis.
Naik was talking to reporters on the sidelines of two-day religious conference to mark the end of centenary celebrations of Shri Roop Gaudiya Mutt and Mission here.

“It is not understandable as to why opposition are raising voice against a scheme implemented to flush out black money from the country. Politics on every issue should be stopped,” said Naik.
He conceded that people has in past one week faced a lot of convenience but added that they are ‘contributing for a noble cause’.
Speaking at the conference, he urged the youth to learn devotion to God and dedication towards needy from Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. “Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu served leprosy patients at a time when they used to be discarded by the society. The present generation especially professionals need to tread on the path shown by Mahaprabhu,” he said.

Naik said, “Mahaprabhu's teachings incorporating spiritualism and humanity is being adopted by people across the globe. Such a divine personality visited the city to propagate his thoughts and I hope youth here would adopt his teachings."
Banaras Hindu University, vice-chancellor GC Tripathi said there is a need to preach the message of brotherhood and harmony in society. Justice SK Mukherji also recalled the teachings of Mahaprabhu.
As part of the event, a ‘kalash yatra’ was also taken out by women in several parts of the city.
