Huawei Honor 6X vs Honor 5X Review: Why You Should Definitely Upgrade

The Huawei brand is known for producing specs-heavy smartphones every year. Today, we will check out the 2015 Huawei Honor 5X and the latest Huawei Honor 6x to see if the upgrade is worth it.

Huawei decided to keep the user interaction similar in both brands with 5.5" IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with HD resolution and multi-touch capability. Though Honor 6X wighs little lighter than Honor 5X.

Upon launch, both phones come with the latest Android OS. Currently, Honor 5X and Honor 6X runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

In terms of faster processing, Huawei seems to be doing away with Snapdragon processors and Adreno GPU. In its previous Honor 5X, a Snapdragon 616 with octa-core 1.5 GHz CPU and Adreno 405 GPU was seen. However, the latest Honor 6X packs with faster Kirin 655 processor with octa-core 2.1GHZ CPU. It has Mali-T830MP2 GPU in it.

Honor 5X comes in two variant- 16GB internal space and 2GB RAM or 3GB RAM. Similary, Honor 6X is also launched in two versions- 32 GB in-built storage with 3/4GB RAM or 64GB internal memory with 4GB RAM.

The camera gets an upgrade with a dual 12MP + 2MP front camera with LED flash and phase detection autofocus in Honor 6X as compared with 13MP primary camera with LED flash and autofocus in Honor 5X. The front snapper is 8MP in the Honor 6X and a 5MP in the Honor 5X.

The battery size has been increased in Honor 6X with 3340mAH battery against the 3000mAH battery in Honor 5X. However, only Honor 6X comes with faster charging option.

Both come with microUSB 2.0, fingerprint, microSD slot up to 256GB and, dual-sim support and Emotion UI 4.0.

Summing up, Huawei proves a point that its latest phones are worth upgrading after comparing the Honor 6X with Honor 5X.
