HYDERABAD: In an attempt to boost revenues, the
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has now slashed the rates at which its buses can be hired for pilgrimages, marriages and other events.
In an official statement released on Monday, the corporation stated that the decision has been arrived at to `increase revenues through affordable rates'.
“Due to the limited availability of buses for hiring and the high rates being charged per kilometre, the demand for hiring and the revenues earned by the corporation in this sector is less.
The Corporation is contemplating developing a separate chartered division, located at the head office, to offer buses on hire,“ read the statement issued by the corporation.
It further stated that a separate fleet of different types of buses, such as Garuda Plus, Rajadhani, super luxury,
deluxe and express buses, has been proposed to be stationed at all
Regional Headquarters of the corporation. An online portal and a mobile app for hiring these
RTC buses would also be developed soon, officials said.
