CHANDIGARH: Fissures in Haryana Congress deepened further on Monday. While Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar chaired a meeting over the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue at Gurugram on Monday, ex-CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has called MLAs and MPs to Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Different meetings have been convened despite Haryana Congress affairs in charge Kamal Nath making efforts to broker peace between Hooda and Tanwar whose relations have turned from bad to worse since October 6 incident when Tanwar suffered injuries in an attack allegedly by former CM's supporters.

"I don't have any knowledge about the meeting at Chandigarh. We have finalized the programme to stage district-wise agitations and gherao the Haryana assembly during the winter session," said Tanwar. He avoided the query on two parallel programmes over the SYL issue. He claimed that CLP leader Kiran Choudhry was among those who attended the meeting at Gurugram.
When contacted, Hooda's close aide R S Maan denied any bickering within the party. "They (team Tanwar) had selective invitees. Our programmes are approved by the higher ups and we are expecting all our MLAs, MPs and those who are concerned with completion of the canal. The agenda will be finalized in the meeting," he added.
When asked if Tanwar or CLP leader Choudhry were invited for the Chandigarh meeting, Maan said there was an open invitation for party leaders. "We have also invited our party members through media and written communication," he said.
Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala reacted by said, "They can't stand together over such a serious issue. One can imagine the credibility of the party and its leaders."
