Psychotropic drugs worth over Rs 1 crore were seized from a 47-year-old man in Kandivli West on Monday. The confiscated cache is said to consist of 1,358 LSD dots worth over Rs 60 lakh and 1,365 ecstasy tablets (MDMA) worth over Rs 40 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, the Kandivli police apprehended the accused, Kishore Nandan, near S4U bar and restaurant on Trikamdas road around 1 am.

“The accused was waiting in his vehicle. We observed him for a while and then approached him. We asked him a few questions, to which he did not give satisfactory replies. On searching, we found the drugs in his possession in a leather pouch,” said Mukund Pawar, senior inspector, Kandivli police.
According to the police, 1,358 LSD dots worth Rs 67,90,000, and 1,365 ecstasy tablets, worth Rs 40,95,000, were found. A Scorpio SUV allegedly involved in the operation was seized too.
The accused, a resident of Thane, has been remanded in police custody till November 17 and has been charged under the sections 8(C), 21 and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
