Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister, said that the present Congress Government had failed on all fronts during its four-year rule in the state. Dhumal was addressing a press conference at Baggi in Nachan Assembly segment, near here, today.

He said the state government was known for spreading corruption and promoting mafia raj, these being in forest, mining, land, liquor or transfer cases.

He said children studying in schools were not getting free dresses and if dresses were available they were not getting money for stitching. Books were not provided to them as per the schemes. Furthermore, adequate staff was not posted in the schools located in far-flung areas.

The unemployed were not getting any unemployment allowance as promised by the Congress, no policy for the recruitment of Class III and IV employees was framed and the government was filling these posts through back door entry. The employees were not getting scales as promised by the Congress with effect from 2006, Dhumal said.

He claimed that retirees were not receiving salaries in time and were getting Dearness Allowances after a gap of 11 months. He charged that the Congress Government was giving step-motherly treatment to the employees who were recruited during the tenure of the previous BJP government.

The government was not honoring the decision of the Supreme Court vide which it had granted certain benefits to home guards. Due to bad conditions of roads, horticulturists had suffered as they could not transport their produce to the market, suffering huge losses.

He said the party was ready to fight the Assembly elections and the BJP would highlight the failure of the present government on all fronts and the good works done by the previous BJP government in the state.

The working of the present BJP Government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would prove to be a key factor in ousting the Congress government from power.

He said the steps taken on black money on would improve the economy and banking system, besides destroying parallel economy. He congratulated the Prime Minister and Finance Minister for implementing the decision effectively.

He was accompanied, among others, by MP Mandi Ram Swaroop Sharma, BJP MLAs Inder Singh (Sarkaghat) and Vinod Kumar (Nachan).

He also addressed a workers meeting at Baggi and was given warm welcome at various places in District Mandi.
