NAGPUR: The Gadchiroli forest circle has drawn a tourism circuit plan to attract visitors to the tribal district. The circuit will be opened in December during assembly session.
Under the 22 lakh plan, four elegant eco-friendly bamboo cottages are being constructed in Allapalli from where tourists will be taken to places of interests including wildlife, nature, historic and religious.
The bamboo cottages will also showcase the architecture how the eco-friendly material can be used for construction.
Each cottage will cost near 4 lakh.
“The cottages will be made available online and to promote the circuit it will cost around 1000-1500 per day. The charges will be increased depending on the response,” chief conservator of forests (CCF) P Kalyankumar, Gadchiroli, told TOI.
“Vigilant police and forest department creating livelihood opportunities for locals have witnessed drastic fall in naval activities. We want to cash in on the treasure trove we have here. The entire tourism circuit will be run by joint forest management committees (JFMCs) benefiting locals,” said Kalyankumar.
The four-day tour package will include visit to Chaprala wildlife sanctuary, giant squirrel park in Konsari, Van-Vaibhav at ‘Glory of Allapalli’, Baba Amte’s Lok Biradari Prakalp in Hemalkasa followed by Triveni Sangam of Pamulgautam, Indravati & Parlkota rivers in Bhamragarh.
Interpretation centre to come up in Waddham.
