Eastleigh are to sign Ross Stearn from National League rivals Sutton United for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old winger has scored six goals for 13th-placed Sutton.

Sutton manager Paul Doswell told the club website: "Ross has improved almost game by game since joining Sutton. (He) thoroughly deserves this chance to secure his family's future for the next three years."

Eastleigh are ninth in the table, four points ahead of Sutton.

Stearn moved to Sutton from Bath City and played 80 times for the south London club, helping them win National League South last season.

"I would like to thank Sutton for allowing the transfer to happen," former Forest Green player Stearn told Sutton's website.

"I know Sutton United will keep progressing and would recommend any young player who wants to improve and progress to sign at this special football club."
