Eva Grover to play Kiku Sharda's stepmother in 'Akbar Birbal'

Eva Grover is quite excited about the ‘stepmotherly treatment’ meted out to her by the makers of TV show, 'Akbar Birbal'. The actress, who stayed away from arch lights for almost a year owing to health issues, is returning in full force. And, that too, as Akbar’s (Kiku Sharda) stepmother in the show.
About her health woes, she says, “I am perfectly fine now. I was quitting projects because of my health issues, but wasn’t getting any rest.During 'Tashan-E-Ishq', my back went for a toss. The spot boys would hold me straight for close-ups. Unable to take it any longer, I had to quit the show eventually. I have rested enough and am ready to face the camera once again.”
Eva adds, “I am returning to comedy after long, and it feels like a breath of fresh air. I did many grey characters in between, and people connected with that, too. But it wasn't my real image as an actor, since I had always done comedy.”
Ask her if she is apprehensive about playing stepmother to Kiku and his reel wife Delnaaz Irani since they are the same age and she replies, “It’s a young character; I play Akbar’s father’s fourth wife. I wouldn’t take up a project that requires me to play a character, who is older than the actor I am playing mother to. Even in 'Bade Achhe Laggte Hain', I was younger to Ram (Kapoor), which was established in the show. In this show, I will be Kiku and Delnaaz’s (Jodha) age.”
