Woman files case against sister

AHMEDABAD: A 63-year-old woman has filed a complaint with Gujarat University (GU) police station against her sister and her husband for cheating her of cash and valuables for over one year. Police have started investigation on the basis of the proofs provided.
According to GU police, Meenaxi Vajaariya, 63, a resident of Buena Vista Apartment near Government Polytechnic, has accused her sister Bindu Shah and her husband Prashant Shah, residents of Bapashri Avenue, Radio Mirchi Road, of cheating her.
“Her complaint complaint mentions that the duo has been cheating her from January 2015 to date and over different pretexts they had got Rs 20 lakh, then Rs 35 lakh, gold and silver bars and jewellery and other valuables by hoodwinking her,“ said a GU police official. Investigators said that Vajaariya's son lives in the US and the Shah couple had sought her help to send their daughter to the US.
