Writers conduct seminar on Punjabi

Writer and journalist Ashok Bhora conducted a special discussion on the progression of Punjabi language and culture among the NRIs, at Virsa Vihar Society here today. This discussion was attended by Virsa Vihar Society president Kewal Dhaliwal and other eminent Punjabi writers from the city.

Speaking about second-generation Punjabis living abroad, Bhora said they were more connected to their roots than their fellow Indians. “The first-generation Punjabis never let their country and culture out of their genes and thus, their children grew up imbibing their cultural values and respecting their identity. I believe they are much more connected to their roots.”

He was accompanied by Renuka Singh, Kuldip Dhaliwal and Paramjit Singh, who also shared their views on the subject. Later, Kewal Dhaliwal honored the writers for their contribution to the Punjabi literature.
