Allahabad: The Allahabad high
court on Friday dismissed a writ petition filed by former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha, who had challenged the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against him by CBI court, Ghaziabad in the multi-crore NRHM scam case.
Dismissing Kushwaha’s petition, Justice Arun Tandon asked him to appear before the CBI court in Ghaziabad and plead his case there itself.
Kushwaha’s counsel argued that the chargesheet filed against him must be quashed, as the police did not take any prior permission from the state government before preparing it.
However, counsel for the state government pleaded that there is no illegality in filing of chargesheet because in cases related to prevention of corruption, there is no need to take prior permission of the state government.
