BJP intimidating Tamil Nadu govt: Stalin
BJP appeared not inclined towards supporting the no-confidence motion that Trinamool Congress has threatened to move against the UPA govt.
M Karur: DMK treasurer M K Stalin has lashed out at the Central government stating that the BJP government at the Centre implemented the schemes opposed by chief minister J Jayalalithaa by threatening the current regime in the state. He was campaigning for DMK candidate K C Palanisamy in Aravakurichi on Thursday. "Jayalalithaa had not agreed to implement NEET, UDAY scheme, Food safety Act and GST in Tamil Nadu.
Now, the central government intimidated the present administration and got the schemes accepted in Tamil Nadu," said Stalin. He was indirectly referring to the hospitalisation of Jayalalithaa that led to the standstill of the governance in the state for the past five months.
Stalin criticised AIADMK candidate V Senthil Balaji and held him responsible for the cancellation of the election in Aravakurichi constituency. The campaign commenced in the evening continued in several places in the constituency. Earlier, he held a consultation meeting with the party functionaries in Aravakurichi to discuss their strategy to retain the constituency. Palanisamy was the incumbent MLA of Aravakurichi constituency. Stalin will continue his campaign in rest of the places in the constituency on Friday as well.
