Police recruitment: Rajnath Singh promises no interview if BJP voted to power

BJP MP from Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath said that the consecutive SP and BSP governments have led to “criminalisation of the politics” and turned “transfers of officers” into an industry.

“The appeasement politics has crossed all the limits as now we have to make requests to the administration before celebrating our festivals…in Muzaffarnagar riots, Hindus too were victims and faced FIRs. But now we are here to bring a change,” Adityanath said.

Adityanath said that Akhilesh Yadav government has paved the way for criminals to enter politics and his first decision in this direction after coming to power in 2012 was to withdraw cases against those booked in terror cases.

Targetting Mayawati, the BJP leader said that the BSP chief was these days chanting slogans of “Dalit-Muslim” unity. “Such unity is impossible as Daits who follow Bhimrao Ambedkar in true sense will not get trapped by the BSP,” he said.

State president of BJP’s women wing, Swati Singh too addressed the event. She said that Ambedkar and BSP founder Kanshiram fought for the rights of women but Mayawati has “no respect and no concern for bahu-beti”.

Swati, who is wife of former BJP leader Dayashanker Singh who was expelled for making objectionable comments against Mayawati, further said that Akhilesh calls himself a ‘trainee CM’. “I want to ask, is UP a laboratory or training workshop?,” Swati said.

Later in Varanasi, ,state party chief Keshav Prasad Maurya too took a jibe at the SP and the BSP and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonitise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes was a “surgical strike on their business of trading tickets for cash” for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Claiming that now elections cannot be won with muscle power and black money, Maurya asked, “How will they now sell tickets to aspiring candidates for the elections and collect crores of rupees?”

The decision to demonitise these notes will not affect the day-to-day affairs of common people. But it is a big blow to those hiding crores of black money, he claimed.
