5 persons killed in road accidents in Nayagarh

In a tragic incident, five persons were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents occurred at two different places in Nayagarh district on Wednesday.

BHUBANESWAR: In a tragic incident, five persons were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents occurred at two different places in Nayagarh district on Wednesday.
In the first accident, three persons were killed and three others injured when a car rammed into the back of a truck on National Highway-16 at Chandapur under Ranapur police limits in the district. The injured were admitted to Tangi hospital.
Police sources said the car originated from Bhubaneswar was going to Berhampur.
The second accident occurred at Nandighor under Odagaon police limits in the district. A youth Kishore Chandra Rout, 17, and his mother Geli Rout, 40, died in the accident when a truck hit their bike at Nandighor. The duo was coming from Nayagarh to Nandighor. Geli died on the spot, while Rabindra succumbed to his injuries at Nayagarh headquarters hospital.
Odagaon police station IIC Ramachandra Sahu said they have handed over the bodies to their family members after postmortem.
