Tribal woman gang-raped in Khandwa district

Khandwa police on Wednesday registered cases against unknown persons for rape of a tribal woman in front of husband and robbing them of valuables in village Kalaaam Khurd.

INDORE: Khandwa police on Wednesday registered cases against unknown persons for rape of a tribal woman in front of husband and robbing them of valuables in village Kalaaam Khurd.
"The 25-year-old woman from village Chabutara was travelling with her husband on a motorcycle on Monday night. A group of four people came in their way and stopped them," Khalwa police said.
The accused beat up the husband and dragged the woman to the fields on the roadside, taking turns to rape her.
The husband tried to stop passersby for help, but failed to get any, police said.
The accused also made away with Rs 20,000 from the victims. The woman reached the police station on Tuesday evening following which a team of police officials visited the spot. Evidence of struggle was seen at the crime scene, police said.
The woman was sent for the medical examination following which a case of rape was registered against unknown persons.
