The CID, which is investigating the case, said the club was likely a front for making crude bombs. CID sources claimed Monti Mondal has confessed that they hired labourers on daily wage to manufacture crude bombs. While nearly 40 crude bombs found at the site were defused on Monday, sources said another 32 were defused today.

The sources said the explosives contained arsenic sulphur and potassium chloride — chemicals used in making crude bombs.
A local resident named Lal Mohan Sheikh, 70, was killed when the debris of one of the club walls fell on him on Monday. The victim’s wife had registered the police complaint.
