APEX Insight: More than 2,400 industry professionals and thought leaders gathered in Singapore to help shape the future airline passenger experience at the most well-attended APEX EXPO ever.

APEX EXPO started off with a bang as industry professionals and thought leaders were welcomed on the tradeshow floor of the most well-attended #APEXEXPO ever by the beat a traditional lion dance. More than 120 companies exhibited their products and services to 2,476 attendees, including 434 airline delegates from a record 77 airline companies, who gathered at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands from October 24 to 27 to help shape the future airline passenger experience.

“The numbers speak for themselves. APEX EXPO once again proved itself to be a dominating factor for the entire passenger experience industry, and airlines and vendors are already lining up for 2017,” said Joe Leader, APEX CEO. “With this tremendously successful event, APEX dramatically expanded its presence in this crucial and growing region of the world.”

Held for the first time outside of North America in more than a decade, APEX EXPO was collocated with Future Travel Experience Asia and Aircraft Interiors Expo Asia. Some of the highlights included firsthand testimonials and insights from key airline executives, including Finnair CEO Pekka Vauramo and Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong, who was the recipient of the first ever APEX CEO Lifetime Achievement Award. Goh was recognized at the APEX Awards ceremony, which was hosted by E! News Asia‘s Dom Lau.

While the typical wet season weather made for spectacular lightning shows visible from rooftop networking events, inside it was raining passenger experience news. Several high-profile companies made big announcements during the show and APEX revealed that it would be partnering with TripIt for its upcoming Official Airline Ratings program.

In addition to its yearly EXPO, APEX hosts multiple industry gatherings around the world, including the upcoming APEX MultiMedia Market, taking place in Berlin from April 24 to 26. More than 95 percent of available booth space has already been booked for next year’s APEX EXPO, which will be colocated with IFSA and Aircraft Interiors, and will take place in Long Beach from September 25 to 28.
