“Pokemon Go” is giving more with daily bonuses. The new daily bonus feature rewards trainers with more Pokemon, XP and Stardust. And according to other reports, Generation 2 Pokemon are coming, as well as a Thanksgiving update special.

On Monday, game developer Niantic rolled out the new daily bonus feature, which gives trainers more XP and Stardust as rewards for trainers’ first catch of the day, extra XP and items for their first Photo Disc spin of the day at a Pokestop, and bigger bonus if all actions are completed seven days in a row.

“To celebrate this feature, from November 7th to November 11th, you’ll find more Pokemon out in the world. Moreover, Pokestops will grant more items! Yes – this means more Great Balls, and for Trainers that are level 20 and above – more Ultra Balls!” the announcement on the Pokemon Go Live website reads.

While that sounds exciting, players appear to be more interested in the rumoured “Pokemon Go” updates: the Thanksgiving special and the emergence of Pokemon Generation 2.

‘Pokemon Go’ Thanksgiving event

In the US, Thanksgiving will fall on Nov. 24. And like what Niantic had done this recent Halloween, Thanksgiving could also mean more goodies for trainers.

According to Slash Gear, Niantic could follow a similar formula to the Halloween celebration in the upcoming Thanksgiving. However, instead of seeing more Haunter, Ghastly, Gengar, Cubone, Marowak, Zubat, Golbat, Drowsee and Hypno, trainers would be seeing more of Spearow and its evolved form Fearow, as well as Psyduck, Golduck, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Ponyta and Rapidash.

Spearow and Fearow are not exactly exciting finds as they are very common. However, they still bring candies and XPs.

It’s unclear whether the rumoured “Pokemon Go” Thanksgiving event, if it will indeed happen, will be celebrated worldwide. Slash Gear only said that although different Thanksgiving events take place around the world, it’s likely Niantic will follow the US event, which is on Nov. 24. It is expected to start on that day, which is a Thursday, and continue on into Sunday.

Pokemon Generation 2 monsters on the way

According to the site The Silph Road, Generation 2 Pokemon are on their way. The game’s codes are now referencing 100 new Pokemon, from Chikorita at Pokedex #152 to Celebi at #251. The game will also include 52 new Pokemon families, again from Chikorita to Celebi, and including Ho-Oh and Lugia.

The elusive Pokemon Ditto is also reported to be in the new batch. The purple shape-shifting blob has been rumoured to be included since the mobile app launched in July. However, there has not been any concrete report on it. The Silph Road, however, now has more information, saying it has been uncovered in the game’s APK file v0.45.0.

Ditto’s signature move, Transform, is also apparently both in the GAME_MASTER file with its own animation sequence and the APK code. However, Transform will not be in Ditto’s movesets, which only include Struggle. It’s possible, the website notes, that Transform may never become Ditto’s official move, but it may just be an “occurrence” every time Ditto is in combat.
