Signaling a revival of fresh hiring in India, three graduates of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) have bagged Rs 29 lakh in annual compensation up from the peak of Rs 17 lakh last year. According to a Hindustan Times report, these three Bcom (Hons) and economics (Hons) students bagged Rs 29 lakh from Parthenon-EY, a strategy consultancy company. This year, so far, 120 students have already been placed from SRCC. Parthenon-EY hired for the first time from the college and offered the highest package.
“It is heartening to see the kind of companies coming for recruitment this year, and the variety of profiles is an added bonus. We shall strive to spread this reach even further in the times to come, in our attempt to provide our students the best of opportunities”, says Shalu Gupta, chief secretary of the placement cell.
Among other top recruiters, McKinsey and AT Kearney offered about Rs 15 lakh for consultancy jobs to four students. Deutsche Bank has selected five students at a package of Rs 15 lakh per year. Other companies on campus this year were EY, Deloitte, ID Insight, KPMG. Last year, Deutsche Bank was the top recruiter at SRCC with a package of Rs 17 lakh per annum. Other prominent recruiters included McKinsey, AT Kearney, Reckitt Benckiser, Citibank and Bain Capability Centre. And the demand was for business analysts, management associates and positions in marketing and sales teams.
Last year, the firm had offered Rs 29 lakh to Rhea Grover, a Bcom (Hons) student at Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), the highest offer at the institute. The final placements are yet to get over at the institute this year.
