60 stray dogs culled at Kadungalloor

KOCHI: A team headed by Kadungalloor grama panchayat member T K Jayan killed around 60 stray dogs with the support of Stray Dog Eradication Group on Monday. The carcasses were later buried in a vacant land belonging to the panchayat.
Jayan said he was ready to face any legal action for the culling of dogs.
Woman member of extortion gang held: The Hill Palace police on Monday arrested Bipina (24), daughter of Wilson from Mankulam near Adimali, on charges of blackmailing and extorting money from businessman Ajith of Edappally.
Bipina was arrested based on the statement given by Shibili (37) of Mattancherry, the first accused and the leader of the gang.
“We traced the mobile tower location of Bipina to Kollam. She is the sixth accused in the case,” said S Sanal, sub-inspector of the Hill Palace police station.
The gang had sedated Ajith on pretext of a business meeting and later taken obscene pictures with Bipina.
