Blossom Public School shines in scout & guide contest

PUNE: JSPM’s Blossom Public School secured the first place at a district-level competition for scouts and guides. Titled ‘Khari kamai’, the event was organised by Pune Zilla Parishad recently. They winners were awarded a trophy by the competition head and president Digamber Deshmukh and chief commissioner Sudhakar Tambe.
The team from Blossom Public School, named ‘Kalpana Chawla and Shambu Raje’, had undertaken social work in their neighbourhood as a part of the activity.
School principal Jyotsna Mishra and vice-principal Pankaj Dhawan motivated and guided the students. The school sports teacher Shamal Shinde has been assigned the post of deputy district commissioner of guide to promote the scout guide movement.
GGIS scores at championship
GG International School won laurels in the fourth national ‘Goa Tang Soo Do’ championship held at P J N Indoor Stadium, Madgaon, Goa, recently. It was organised by the Tang Soo Do Sports Association of Goa. Around 950 players from across 18 states had participated in the tournament. The chief guest was Mahabali Stpalji, chief patron, School Game Federation of India.
In the individual sparring event, Nibha Gupta of standard VIII bagged a gold medal, Misbah Ahmed of Std V and Tanishka Adhikari of Std III secured silver, while Adija Shinde, Jagruti Suryawanshi, Divya Wable and Kanti Ganjal from Std IV won bronze medals.
The individual forms had Avneesh Shingare of Std IV bagging a gold medal and Adija Shinde pocketing a bronze. Divya also bagged a gold medal in individual board breaking.

The team events had Divya, Adija and Misbah securing a silver medal. In the team board breaking event, Shreeshiva Suryawanshi of Std V, Ayush Chapriya of Std VI and Avneesh secured bronze medals.
Priyanka Jadhav, a faculty member from the school who participated in the competition, received a silver medal in the individual sparring event. Principal Bharti Bhagwani congratulated the coach and the team on their outstanding performances.
Democratic Regime at APS, Khadki
Army Public School, Khadki, recently held elections to induct a new student council. The candidates campaigned with full enthusiasm and put up posters while delivering speeches thereby setting a perfect environment for elections. The results were declared within a day.
S S spreads smiles in Diwali
The students of S S English Medium School visited the paraplegic rehabilitation centre for injured soldiers recently. They distributed sweets and learnt about their achievements. Students also visited Muktangan deaddiction and rehabilitation centre where they interacted with the inmates and wished them a life free of drugs. Next, they also visited C R Ranganathan School for hearing impaired students and spent quality time with the children.
