MYSURU: As many as 28 various organisations including Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Karnataka Janasangrama Parishat, Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha, Swaraj Abhiyana, DSS, AIMSS, AIDYO, have come on a common platform to form 'Janandolana Mahamaitri' with a common agenda.
At a mega convention held at the Maharaja College centenary hall here Sunday, Janasangrama Parishat leader Raghavendra Kustagi, litterateur Devanooru Mahadeva, anti-corruption activist S R Hiremath, farmer leader Nandhini Jayaram and others spoke on their objectives and most of them alleged that the national parities -- both BJP and Congress -- have betrayed the voters.

Writer and critic Rahamat Tarikere, launching an indirect attack on the two major parties said that they have indulged in 'bloodshed for vote politics' and 'corruption' thus leading to destructive development across the state. "For the welfare of people, a Mahamaitri kind of forum is the need of the hour," he said. He also called upon all progressive organisations to form a strong force in order to bring reforms in politics.
Devanur Mahadevu said, "Development which is being undertaken is not on the right track. Various facilities and schemes are not reaching the needy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power assuring collective development irrespective of religion and caste and social justice. However, that has just remained a statement. If he had concern for all, he would have implemented the recommendations of Sachar Committee report, reservation in privatisation, uniform education and food security. The forum will work for overall development of the people".
